I’m Ken Veerman, a Belgian advisor and facilitator helping venues and mission-driven organisations across Europe thrive. With over 15 years of experience, I specialise in aligning artistic vision with audience engagement and sustainable business models.
What I Offer
- Mission Design – Helping organisations articulate clear, compelling missions that inspire teams and audiences alike.
- Audience Development – Strategies to strengthen audience relationships and engagement in a meaningful way.
- Strategic Planning – Building sustainable, impact-driven plans that balance artistic ambitions, audience growth, and financial resilience.
Current Projects
I am currently working with Live DMA on developing Crowdbuilder, a tool designed to help European music venues refine their audience development strategies. This initiative supports venues in navigating the changing dynamics of audience behaviour and engagement.
Speaking & Workshops
I regularly speak at conferences and lead workshops for cultural professionals on topics such as:
- Mission-driven leadership
- Audience engagement strategies
- Organisational storytelling
These sessions provide practical insights and tools to help cultural organisations navigate the challenges of mission-driven work.
Publications
My book, Vertellers, Geen Verkopers (Storytellers, Not Salespeople), explores management strategies for cultural organisations. It asks:
- How do you manage an organisation focused on social impact rather than commercial success?
- How do you define and engage your audience when the traditional customer model doesn’t apply?
While the book is currently available in Dutch, its core principles shape my English-language workshops and talks.
Let’s Connect
If you’re looking for a speaker, a workshop facilitator, or a strategic advisor for your organisation, let’s talk. Together, we can develop stronger, more resilient cultural organisations that connect meaningfully with their audiences.
